What is the best strategy to win a AAA Base Defense Game today?
Let’s preface our attempt to answer that question with a reference to a classic piece of literature, “The Art of War” by Sun Tzu. This is an old book whose philosophy is employed by some Fortune 500 companies. And, as strange as it may seem, this philosophy can also be employed in high-level gaming strategies used to win battles in the epic AAA game, Heroes of Mavia.
Nothing new under the sun as the old saying goes.
In the AAA game, Heroes of Mavia, there are two points that stood out to me as possible core level strategies that you can build your bases and armies around.
1. Use of Hero NFTs
Conventional thinking may lean toward an attack and conquer strategy, although it’s likely your opponent could be thinking the same thing. So, should attacking be your best weapon? Well, there is another old saying, “the best defense is a good offense.”
But is this a complete strategy? While it’s an important piece to consider, an equally important strategy is to consider building up such a strong defense as to discourage attacks on your home base. It’s true that your home base is where you train your army and where they will recover from battles. It’s also where the treasury to feed your army and civilization resides. Without a base of operations, your army can only be so strong. It can only grow so big which may eliminate the possibility of going after bigger treasures if another army or base is too large to tackle.
Heroes of Mavia offers the player to “choose their weapon” in unique ways. One of those ways is the traditional Hero NFTs that can be made stronger and more valuable. Think of this as your top-level special forces leaders who can do everything well. This discussion is not focused on NFT value as that is a much more robust conversation than this article will allow.
The other way is to build up your base defense. And in my opinion, the way Heroes of Mavia does this is unique. Anyone who has played a base defense strategy game will be familiar with building your defenses as part of your strategy. But what if there was a way to use something to allow the player to form a strategy of combining base powers? This unique approach gives the player the ability to upgrade their unique base powers to increase speed and efficiency of the base in several areas such as resource production, cool down and building time, troop training time, and more.
2. Use of Statue NFTs
These statue NFTs have a secondary, albeit not readily seen, benefit. And that’s to boost the player’s will to win. From the technical point of view, these statues boost the capabilities of the base as stated above.
But they may also serve as a morale boost to the player opening new, creative ways of thinking to win a battle. How is that possible you ask? If we consider how symbols have played out in nations and armies, we can see how the belief in a symbol may fuel inspiration to fight in ways you didn’t think possible to come out the victor. The result of which could bring huge treasures.
